Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
The whole city was preparing for Borussia Dortmund's first Bundesliga win after 10 titleless years and and I was planning on partying and an all night long photographing streak of happy celebrating people. Alas, the most cruel thing happened and the team could not win their last game. I really did not feel going out shooting but forced myself to do so. This is what Dortmund looked like yesterday. It felt like losing a war.

I was trying to get a picture of a classic car with the sun behind my back but after many failed attempts I turned around and saw this scene unfolding. Luckily I was quick enough to capture the the moment created by Havana's beautiful warm morning sun. Often the best pictures are not the ones planned, but spontaneous ones.

Das Braunkehlchen ist Deutschlands Vogel des Jahres 2023. Den Winter verbringen die kleinen Vögelchen in den weit entfernten Savannen südlich der Sahara, kommen aber im Frühling zum Brüten zurück nach Deutschland.

Have you ever seen the Maasai play football? This scene was one of the biggest surprises for me in Zanzibar. Since I always take my camera with me I was able to capture this amazing sight.
Strange thing is, each team had only a few Maasai on it and in every single team the other players would not call the Maasai players by their names but only with "Maasai, Maasai" to them.

Rarely have I been to a more beautiful place to spend the afternoon than La Habana's Malecon. The cars, the waves, the friendly people, the sunshine all are all small things that combined make this place magical. It was a joy being there waiting for the perfect moment to capture with my camera.
