For the last two years I have been very busy shoot

For the last two years I have been very busy shooting street and realizing my fine art projects, which left no time for wildlife photography. However, on our recent trip to Australia I came back to the genre I started photography for and had great fun photographing Australia's iconic species.

In the next few weeks I will show my take on Australia's wildlife before returning to showing street photography again.

I wanted to capture this in one shot and due to the long exposure we had to do it over and over again until we finally got everyone sharp. Imagine summer heat, 16 people crammed into the room and sealed off windows to block out the sun and you will get an idea of how fun this shooting was.

Great News! "Cinderella Snubs the Prince", the se

Great News!

"Cinderella Snubs the Prince", the second work of my series "Grimm Realities" has been shortlisted for the Royal Photographic Society's annual exhibition. I don't know if our photo will make the cut, but being shortlisted against a competition of over 10000 submitted photos from 41 countries already means a lot to me.

The exhibition has been held almost every year since 1854 and is the longest running exhibition of its kind in the world. Being part of it would be amazing. Fingers crossed!

Grimm Realities part 1 - Snow White and the Seven Mortal Sins

This is the first part of the series shot in the car service station of @wheelsunderpressure in 2024. A huge thank you, Stephan, for all your help, not only for giving me the opportunity to shoot at your place, but also for rearranging the whole interior.

The worst part was attaching a flash to the roof that I reached via the ladder in the background. You must know that I am really scared of heights and this ladder was really high and shaky.

Grimm Realities part 7 - The Town Musicians of Bremen

This one was my first open air shoot and a very complicated one because of the dependence on weather and the very short time window to shoot.

The photo had to be taken during blue hour at dusk, which meant a total shooting time of 15 minutes. Earlier there was still too much sunlight that killed the red flare, later the sky was pure black, which did not look good.

Luckily the weather was stable and the wind blew just into the right direction.

After almost two years of preparation, planning and shooting I have finished my series "Grimm Realities" where I reinterpret 7 of the most popular fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm. In the next few days I will upload all the photos to show them side by side.
