I have been shooting a lot of street lately and wi

I have been shooting a lot of street lately and will show the results soon. In the meantime enjoy a portrait of a purple faced langur (Semnopithecus vetulus) I took in Sri Lanka last week.

We spotted a group of them on the way from Ella to Yala, not far from the road. Upon seeing my long 600mm lens the shy langurs panicked and fled into the trees below the road, but remained close enough for some beautiful portraits.

I am very proud to have made a strong 5th place in the very competitive Street Photography Award hosted by the Independent Photographer Magazine.

Thank you very much @theindependentphoto for appreciating my work and sharing it with thousands of people worldwide.

Also I want to make a big complement to @olivier.lei and gavindoran who are also finalists of the competition and who captured wonderful frames that I would have personally put into the top 3. Keep up the great work guys!

My first leopard portrait and what a beauty she is. It was a really long and hard day, driving around for 12 hours looking for leopards, but in the end we found several and I got the chance to shoot some portraits.

This one is definitely a great addition to my ongoing series "The animals' tribunal / Das Tribunal der Tiere".

Freunde der Fotokunst, ich habe endlich einen Pri

Freunde der Fotokunst,
ich habe endlich einen Printshop auf meiner Homepage eingerichtet.

Alle meine Bilder sind nur in limitierten Auflagen erhältlich, wenn eine Serie ausverkauft ist, wird sie nicht mehr nachgedruckt. Ich signiere jedes einzelne Foto und lege ihm ein Echtheitszertifikat mit allen wichtigen Infos wie Titel, Aufnahmedatum, Druckpapierart und Auflagennummer bei.

Der Druck auf den Fotos geht morgen in einer harten Papprolle in die schöne Stadt Essen, damit er beim Versand nicht beschädigt wird und ganz sicher beim Kunden ankommt.

Und übrigens, 5% meiner Einnahmen spende ich an das @tierheim_witten . Ihr kauft also nicht nur Kunst, sondern helft auch Tieren in Not.

Ich wollte noch einmal all den wunderbaren Mensche

Ich wollte noch einmal all den wunderbaren Menschen dafür danken, ein Event wie @contemporaryartruhr.de Jahr für Jahr zu ermöglichen und so jungen Künstlern wie mir die Möglichkeit zu geben, die eigene Arbeit einem größeren Publikum vorzustellen, Feedback einzuholen, andere Künstler kennen zu lernen und, wie zuletzt der Fall war, sogar einen Galeristen zu finden.

Ohne solche Ausstellungen bleibt einem praktisch nur noch Social Media, und um dort Reichweite zu generieren muss man Dinge tun, die von der eigentlichen Sache, der Kunst ablenken.

Schade nur, dass meine Heimatstadt, Dortmund, solche Veranstaltungen nicht realisiert. Vielleicht wäre es ja mal was, @stadt_dortmund . In Essen seht ihr jedenfalls, wie es gemacht wird.

Spring is coming and I cannot wait to get out and shoot some domestic wildlife.
This here is one of my last wildlife images from 2023. I was shooting some pheasants when this deer walked out from a corn field just a few meters away. She was as surprised seeing me, as I was seeing her, but the few seconds we spent watching each other were enough to take this picture.

If nature had ever created the perfect predator, crocodilians would be a contendor for this title. These powerful reptiles have witnessed the dinosaurs come and go and have remained unchanged for hundreds of millions of years. If this is not a success story, I have never heard one.
