The last few weeks have been very stressful since we moved into a new apartment among few other things. However, I still have tons of photos from my recent trip to Sicily where I tried to capture the different Easter traditions.

The third part of my series "Grimm Realities" - Scrolling Beauty. Sometimes I wonder if all this screentime is not some kind digital sleep.

Unfortunately Instagram is not the best platform to show this type of image; it looks best as a big fine art print and I hope to finish the whole series next year and show all the images in a big exhibition.

Grimm Realities 3/7 - Scrolling Beauty

After "Snow White and the 7 Sins" and "Cinderella Snubs the Prince" the third part of my series "Grimm Realities" is a recreation of "Sleeping Beauty", but as always with a modern twist.

I want to thank all the people who helped be realize this project. First of all, thank you @mengec4l and Nora for allowing me to shoot and create chaos in their beautiful apartment.

As always thank you the one and only @andy_lien_ for making this beautiful trailer despite the chaos of the shooting.

My wildest photography night of the year was the"

My wildest photography night of the year was the" il ballo dei diavoli" or the dance of the devils in the beautiful Sicilian village of Prizzi.
I started the day shooting Albanian folk dresses in Piana degli Albanesi and drove to Prizzi after that to cover the devils running through the streets.
When night fell I had already been shooting for 10 hours, but the atmosphere was electrifying and I had to get out my flash and capture the energy and pace of the place.

I spent in Cefalu in 2 days with my camera. Though the place is really small, it is beautiful and if you keep your eyes open, you will find a lot to photograph . I would have loved to stay longer, but as always there was a tight schedule and I had to move on to Enna for the Easter procession, the photos of which I will show soon.

I spent 1,5 hours sitting with my back to a parked

I spent 1,5 hours sitting with my back to a parked car waiting for a single motorcycle to drive down the street but it just did not happen. Either cars or pedestrians would walk through the frame and destroy the mood of the scene.

In street photography you go home emptyhanded most of the time but this evening was different. With only 3% battery remaining I got my motorcycle and not only that. A street cat crossed the street just when the motorcycle was in the optimal position in the frame.

This is what we street photographers call "serendipity", the fortunate or pleasant occurance of something by chance, often while looking for something else. You cannot force it but if you try again and again, focus and do not give up, you will eventually get the shot.

This year I spent Easter in Sicily to document the

This year I spent Easter in Sicily to document the various religious processions among which the one in Enna was by far the most spectacular.
While I am still looking through and editing the photos I took there, I wanted to share the last photo I took on that day. After shooting for 12 hours I had 0% power on my last battery and took this photo after the celebration ended on the way to my car. After taking this one, my camera turned off.
From experience I know that most of the time a great photo opportunity awaits one just before the shooting ends. So when when I am out taking photographs I never turn off my camera until I literally enter home.

Originally I waited for a person to look down from one of upper balconies, but no one showed up. However, I was lucky to capture a sea gull mid flight and got both, the cat and the bird in one photo.
