Roofball - Dortmund, 2026.

I had been planning this image for a few months due to several reasons. Firstly, we had to wait until June for the the sun to rise in the right spot. In winter the photo would not have been possible because the sun would have been blocked by a building. Secondly, we had to hope for a clear sky. Without sunlight creating long shadows the image would not have worked the way I wanted.

Obviously, this is not one of the images that look great on a tiny smartphone display. Due to all the little details it is best viewed as a large fine art print.

Most importantly, I want to thank all the people in front and behind the camera who woke way before sunrise to meet at this roof and help me realize my idea.

In the last few months I have not posted any stree

In the last few months I have not posted any street photography which does not mean that I have not taken any street photos. Quite the opposite, I was shooting a lot, but did not have much time to show the results. So here are some from the so called "Cityringkonzerte", annual open air concerts of classical music right in the heart of Dortmund.
